Our relay comes from a conference "Modern Money and Public Purpose," Professor Hudson's piece here is  specifically titled "Money and Debt."  Michael Hudson is the president of the Institute for the Study of Long-Term Economic trends. 

And today we're talking very long-term. Think paleolithic and Sumeria and Hammurabi.
